Micro Task Assistant is a free website with practical online tools for everyday file tasks: merging PDFs, compressing images, pulling text from photos, building a resume, running calculators, and more.

No subscription. No account to create. Open a tool, get your result, and move on.

This article covers what we are, why we built the site, what you can use today, and how we handle privacy, cookies, and terms, so you know what to expect on your first visit.

What is Micro Task Assistant?

Micro Task Assistant (MTA) is a focused utility hub for people who need reliable online tools without installing software or signing up for another service.

We group tools into clear categories (PDF, image, OCR, calculator, resume, text, and utility) so you can find the right one fast instead of digging through a cluttered app store.

Each tool page includes:

  • A simple workflow: upload or paste, run the action, download or copy your result
  • How it works and FAQ sections so you are not left guessing
  • Related tools when the next step is obvious (for example, merge PDFs, then compress for email)

Browse everything on All tools or open a category like PDF tools.

Why we built it (our mission)

Modern work and study means lots of small file jobs: combine PDFs for a submission, shrink an image for a form, copy text from a screenshot, check a currency rate, export a resume as PDF.

Too often that means:

  • Downloading heavy desktop software you use once a month
  • Creating accounts on sites that hide basic features
  • Clicking through ads and upsells before a two-minute task is done

Our mission is simple:

  1. Make useful tools free and accessible. Anyone with a browser should finish common file tasks in minutes.
  2. Respect your time. Fast pages, clear labels, plain language (not developer jargon).
  3. Respect your privacy. Many tools process files on your device. We explain what each tool does on its page and in our Privacy Policy.
  4. Stay practical. We ship complete tools, not placeholders. If it is on the site, you can use it.

We are not trying to replace a full desktop suite for power users every day. We are here for the quick jobs: merge, compress, convert, count. Done well, done free.

How Micro Task Assistant works

Same flow on every tool:

  1. Pick a tool from the home page, navbar, or search on /tools
  2. Add your input: upload a file, paste text, or fill a form
  3. Run the action. Longer jobs show progress so you know it is working
  4. Get your output: download a file, copy text, or use a share link where supported

Many tools keep your files on your device while they run. If a tool needs the server (for example, fetching a public video link), we say so on that page. You choose what to upload.

No account for normal use. Pinned tools and recent history live in your browser only, not behind a login.

How we keep the site running

The site stays free through:

  • Focused tools: one job per page, no bloat

  • Optional support: a donate link when enabled

We want useful tools for you, clear policies, and a site we can run long term.
